Indialantic is located about 60 minutes from the Orlando International Airport and about 40 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center. This beachside and riverside town was incorporated in 1952 and at that time had a population of 1,500. Today it remains largely a residential area, and the population has grown to just above 3,000. Indialantic has a variety of residents such as retirees, young families, artists, students and professionals. Scattered throughout Indialantic are one of kind restaurants and galleries, but most of the local businesses are located on Fifth Avenue, which is the epicenter of the town. Endangered sea turtles lay their eggs along the town’s shores from May through October, and the town of Indialantic was designated as a bird sanctuary in the mid seventies. A1A is a well known highway that runs the entire east coast of Florida, but in Indialantic A1A is one of two roads running north and south throughout the city and together with Riverside Drive the second road running north and south are two of the most scenic roads in Brevard County. Indialantic is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the historic Indian River. Its numerous public parks and public beaches are well maintained and great for family occasions. There are several parks on the river with public boat ramps and docks. You can always find that empty stretch of beach providing a perfect location to take a secluded stroll.
